 In movie the hero called Ant-Man have a special power. He can control his body size big or small After watching the movie, I have a question in my head the question is about when Ant-Man control his body bigger his movement slows down unlike usual. I want to solve this question so I looked up the reason using You Tube and the Internet. The answer to this can be found in McNeilAlexander’s paper published in the 1976 international journal Nature. Muscle strength is proportional to the cross-sectional area of the muscle, and as the body grows according to the square-cube law(Let's say the cube is twice as long. Then the surface area becomes four times bigger and the volume becomes eight times bigger.), muscle strength increases only the square of length compared to the leg weight that increases in proportion to the cube of length. Therefore, it is difficult to rotate the legs at high speed, and due to the heavy body, the load on the legs increases when walking, which causes problems in posture stability and the ability to support the legs, forcing them to move slowly.
