My special experience in New Zealand

I have gone experience that made me change my attitude. That is studying abroad which is New Zealand. One I have watched a TV program on the discovery channel, It was about NZ how New Zealanders live.
NZ has very good condition of nature so it is very nice to live. Green grass is all around the country, People are raising their cattle. A person who has the record of Guiness that shaving sheep's hair, is New Zealander. After finishing watching the TV programs I wonder how it would be like living in NZ.
Then not the time passed by, my father asked me to go study NW. He was a teacher from middle school. So he wanted me to study hard all the time. Since the passion of his education to children, I could talk to American kind of live English. Unlike what I thought, I couldn't even tired to say anything when i got in to the finish homestay that I had no idea how to ask give me some water. The reason of the situation, it wouldn't a problem with my English level. I got a shock by a totally different environment from living in a new country.
Unforeseen, homesick was pretty long bothering me about 3 months. Every time when it rains, I cried missing my home country and mom. The most cause of my homesick as I guess was the rule of the homestay, No Korean!
So, I wrote doing in Korean secretly when i get angry about them. Unnoticed, I was enjoying the like of NZ. I rather liked school then homestay. Homestay was quite a far from the school, where the only place that i can meet my friends. But, the school wasn't good for me either. There was racism. Racism was happening by saying 'go away Asians!' and I was even teased with same kind of sexual stuff. Several times I fought them when I cannot stand of racism. Maybe that is one of a reason why I studied hard too.
Above all of reason that I study hard is. Because of my Parents. It was true that our family live pretty well. But as the time passed, I felt my parents were getting exhausted to continue helping my abroad life. So I decided I need to get as much knowledge as I can, during time the time in NZ. Finally, I got in 3rd place in prize giving just before coming back to Korea.
As an international student, there was no one who got in greater than 3rd place. Everyone congratulate for me.
From the time march of 2006, I live in Korea and with all of experiences from NZ, I got so much changed. And I realized something one, I have to pioneer my life. Two, when a chance came to you, seize it! I miss the time in NZ but I know it is all up to me now.

My special experience in New Zealand

I have gone experience that made me change my attitude. That experience was studying abroad in New Zealand. Once I watched a TV program on the Discovery Channel. It was about NZ and how New Zealanders live.
NZ has a lot of beautiful places of nature so it is a very nice place to live. Green grass is all around the country, and people are raising their cattle with this grass. A person who has the record of Guiness from shaving sheep's hair, is a New Zealander. After finishing watching the TV program I wonder how it would be like living in NZ.
Then as time passed by, my father asked me to go study in NZ. He was a teacher from middle school. So he wanted me to study hard all the time. Since the passion of his education to his children, I could speak the American kind of spoken English. Unlike what I thought, I couldn't even try to say anything when I started my home-stay program. I had no idea how to ask how to get myself some water. The reason of the situation was not really about a problem with my English level. It was because I was so shocked from living in a totally different environment and a new country.
Another unforeseen situation was that I was homesick a long time, which bothered me for about 3 months. Every time it rained, I cried and missed my home country and mom. The biggest cause of my homesickness as I guessed would be the main reason before I left was the rule of the home-stay, No Korean guests and no speaking Korean!
So, I wrote in Korean secretly when I got angry about them. Unnoticed, I was enjoying the life of NZ. I liked school more than the home-stay. Home-stay was quite far from the school, which was the only place that I could meet my friends. But, the school wasn't good for me either. There was racism. Racism was happening by people saying 'Go away Asians!' and I was even teased with some kind of sexual stuff. Several times I fought them when I couldn’t stand the racism. Maybe that is one of the reasons why I studied hard too.
Above all the reason that I studied hard was because of my parents. It was true that our family lived pretty well. But as the time passed, I felt my parents were getting exhausted to continue helping my abroad life. So I decided I needed to get as much knowledge as I could, during my time in NZ. Finally, I got a 3rd place in an English contest just before coming back to Korea.
As an international student, there was no one who got in greater than 3rd place. Everyone congratulated me.
From the time march of 2006, I have lived in Korea and with all of the experiences from NZ, I have changed much. And I realized something else too, that I have to pioneer my life. Also, when an opportunity comes to you, seize it! I miss the time in NZ but I know it is all up to me now to achieve my goals and dreams.
