Infinite our territory, ‘Dokdo’

  In October 25th, friend and I spent time strolling in the park. When we past the middle of the park, there were many students and busily prepared something. We wait and see what they are doing. Then they are came to us and asked “Do you know what day is it today?” We didn’t know, so we replied “No.” They told us today is “Dokdo’s day” and informed us about Dokdo. Then we knew they are doing ceremony for Dokdo’s day. Students lastly requested us short cheering message for Dokdo. We thought students who active voluntarily are really praiseworthy. So I’ll write about Dokdo to celebrate Dokdo’s day.
  Dokdo’s day is the day when King Go-jong emperor legislated in October 25th 1900 to commemorate Dokdo which is Ulleungdo’s dependent island. This year is 113th anniversary of Dokdo’s day and that day many events and ceremonies were held.
  As the Government of the Republic of Korea's own government, Dokdo is designated as Natural Monument No. 336 islands. According to Ulleung, Dokdo are currently 52 people live. Also there are Guards and lighthouse resides to defense Dokdo. Though Japan insist Dokdo is their own territory Dakesima, Dokdo is actually Korea’s territory which is ruled by Korea government.
  -Korea government’s basic opinion.
Dokdo is historically & geographically & international legally our territory. Disputes over territory Sovereignty is nonexistent and Dokdo couldn’t be a target for diplomatic negotiation or juridtical solution. Korea government exert territory sovereign authority about Dokdo.
  -Geographical perception & Historical basis about Dokdo.
1. Geographically Dokdo has been recognized as part of Ulleungdo. This fact is confirmed in Korea’s ancient documents. In the early Joseon times’ document, Ulleungdo and Dokdo are not far, Dokdo could be observed with the naked eye when the weather is good.
2. In ancient document, it is recorded that Korea has recognized Dokdo as Korea’s territory and ruled Dokdo. This two island’s ruled history goes back to Shilla times.

We thought it was admirable for the students who to actively voluntarily volunteer their time. are really praiseworthy. So I’ll write about Dokdo Their dedication inspired this essay about the history of Dokdo and to celebrate Dokdo’s Day.
