 <The Maze Runner>

  I have watched the new released movie called "The Maze Runner." The movie depicts the story of dystopian society like the well-known commercial movie called "The Hunger Games." Dystopia is the concept of meaning anti-utopia which is oppressed and controlled by totalitarian governments or environment disasters.
  Thomas, the main character of the movie, arrives in a small village which is surrounded by high walls via elevator. The village, named as Glade, is the place where young guys with no memories of the past are living in. They made their own rules to avoid a chaos. But things get changed after Thomas take a step into the Glade. Thomas wonders the outside of Glade with curiosity and he wants to escape from there. He was told that the outside of the Glade is the maze and the monsters called Grievers have inhabited in the maze. So these young guys have been captivated in the Glade have not been able to escape from the maze. One day, Thomas violates the rules for he tries to get into the maze in order to rescue his companions. In the process of rescuing his friends, Thomas confronts the Grievers, and he has killed one Griever. Killing the Griever can result in a discovery about the secret of the monster. So they can unveil the mystery of the maze. These boys decide to make a plan for escaping from the maze. However, one guy named Gally opposes Thomas's project and even he is jealous of Thomas's brilliant idea, special ability. He doesn't want to face a risk of escaping from there. He just wants to live in Glade peacefully until died. Eventually, he is conflicted with Thomas whereas Thomas's plan is agreed with most of guys. Gallly is disappointed, so Gally tries to kill Thomas. But he can survive thanks to Minho's help. Minho is helpful to Thomas, he is important guy to develop the story because he knows well about the maze. In the end, they escape from the maze.
  The movie made me think about my attitude toward this society. Gally hates Thomas since Thomas tried to violate their own rules even if Thomas's behavior brings out a good conclusion for Gladers. Gally seems to represent many of us who are easily susceptible to society and culture without any doubt. It's important to follow rules and laws of our society, but if we don't take any questioning mind and skeptical attitude when we notice the problems of our world, we won't be able to achieve what we want. So I would like to suggest my fellows to look at the current status where I am, ask themselves what kind of issues there are, and think about how things can change by choosing a different action.

  The newly released movie called The Maze Runner depicts life in a dystopian society like the one in the well-known Hollywood movie The Hunger Games. A Dystopian society is one in which the people live under oppression from either a totalitarian government or harsh environmental conditions.
  Thomas, the main character of the movie, arrives in a small village which is surrounded by high walls via elevator. The village, named Glade, is inhabited by young guys with no memories of the past. To avoid living in chaos they made their own rules. But things change after Thomas steps into the Glade. Thomas wonders about the world outside of Glade and he wants to escape from there to satisfy his curiosity. He is led to believe that the outside of the Glade is a maze where monsters called Grievers roam. These young guys who have been held captive in the Glade have been deterred from escaping the maze by fear. One day, Thomas violates the rules when he tries to get into the maze to rescue his companions. In the process of rescuing his friends, Thomas confronts the Grievers. The confrontation results in the death of one these mysterious monsters. The killing of the Griever reveals the secret of the monster and ultimately the mystery of the maze. The captives of Glade decide to make a plan to escape from the maze. However, one guy named Gally opposes Thomas's plan. Stricken by jealousy for Thomas's brilliant idea and special ability, he refuses to face the risk of escaping from the Glade. He just wants to live peacefully until he dies. Eventually, he is drawn into conflict with Thomas as the escape plan gains popular support. Gallly is disappointed, so he tries to kill Thomas. Thanks to Minho's help and knowledge of the maze, Thomas survives the attack, and successfully escapes from the maze.
  The movie made me think about my attitude toward this society. Gally hates Thomas since Thomas tried to violate their own rules even if Thomas's behavior brings out a good conclusion for Gladers. Gally seems to represent many of us who are susceptible to blindly conforming to society and culture without any doubt. It's important to follow rules and laws of our society, but if we don't question the status-quo we won't be able to achieve progress. With this in mind, I would like to suggest to my fellows to ask themselves what kind of issues there are, and think about how their choices and actions could change society for the better.
